The mining lobby group Straterra confirmed this week that the guest speaker at its club meeting tomorrow will be the chief executive of Bathurst Mining Ltd (ASX: BRL), Richard Tacon.
Tacon will present on Bathurst and its BT Mining joint venture with the Talley’s group at the Straterra Club meeting, to be held at the Straterra offices on The Terrace in Wellington from 4.30 pm.
Richard Tacon has played a pivotal role in Bathurst’s recovery from the coal price blight that hit its operations several years ago and saw some major rationalisations that led the company into improved times, and buy three operating mines from Solid Energy for BT Mining.
Straterra said that after living and working in Australia for 32 years, Richard Tacon returned to New Zealand to take up the position of chief operating officer in 2012 that led to him becoming chief executive three years later.
