A private company that held coal permits on the West Coast has now lodged documents with the High Court for a ruling on its claim for payments of about $US40 million from Bathurst Resources, which will contest the case.

News of a big payments claim on Bathurst Resources hit its share price and investigation by journalist Simon Hartley indicated the protagonist no longer was NZ owned but was based in Hong Kong.
