Talk on Alaskan gold project
One of the regions in Alaska that created excitement for explorers in North America will be the subject of a talk next week in Waihi for the New Zealand branch of the AusIMM.
Subject of the late afternoon talk will be the Pogo underground gold mine in the Alaskan interior, with the mining taking place north of latitude 60.
The AusIMM said this scenario produces some parallels and variances to underground mining at Waihi.
The speaker will be Leroy Crawford-Flett of OceanaGold Corporation and it will take place on Tuesday at Kava Café in Seddon Street.
