The Reserve Bank is now recruiting for a new head of communications following Mike Hannah’s decision to leave the role after 16 years.
RBNZ said yesterday that Hannah will remain with the central bank as board secretary, and was pursuing other opportunities.
“Mr Hannah has led the Reserve Bank’s communications team through periods of major change, and provided wise counsel stemming from his broad knowledge of Government, industry, news media, financial markets and the financial system,” assistant governor and head of operations, Sean Mills, said.
Hannah will work with the communications team until August 10. Recruitment for a new communications head was underway.
